ADENOSINE MYOCARDIAL PERFUSION IMAGING
(Pharmacological Nuclear Stress Test)
Preparation: Nothing to eat
or drink after midnight the night before the test. Wear comfortable clothes
and shoes. No caffeine 24 hours before the test. Check with your physician
regarding which medications (if any) should be withheld.
Duration: Three hours
If you are unable to exercise on a treadmill, this test can be done using medication which has the same effect as exercise. You may be asked to walk at a very slow pace on the treadmill while the medication is being infused through the IV.
The process is the same as a Nuclear Stress test except for the method of exercise.
