LIPID TESTING
Preparation: Nothing to eat 12 hours prior to test. Must
be well hydrated (a better result will be obtained if you have been drinking
lots of water before you come in).
Duration: 5 minutes
We are able to offer in-office cholesterol testing. This can be done with a simple finger stick as opposed to a venous puncture. Enough blood is obtained to determine the levels of good and bad cholesterol level as well as triglyceride level. A Liver Function Test may also be obtained to monitor your liver levels to make sure that the cholesterol medication that you are on is not affecting your liver. During this visit medications can be adjusted as needed.
